Settling divided co-ownership claims

Bills 141 and 41 amended certain provisions of the Civil Code of Québec (C.C.Q.) concerning the obligations of syndicates, co-owners and insurers. Several of these amendments took effect on December 13, 2018. The resulting changes had a number of impacts, some significant, especially on claims settlement.

This tool, which is intended for the Quebec P&C insurance industry, addresses the questions raised most often by the insurers of divided co-ownership syndicates and co-owners relative to settling claims.
